Do you regret getting your tattoo?
Appmed House uses a Q-switched ND: YAG laser which is effective for the removal of blue, grey and black tattoos.
In this laser treatment the laser energy is rapidly absorbed by ink in the tattoo. The laser energy causes the tattoo ink to break into tiny particles which is then naturally removed by the body’s immune system.
What is involved in the treatment?
The treatment itself consists of placing a hand piece against the surface of the skin and activating the laser light. As many patients describe it, each pulse feels like a grease splatter or the snapping of a rubber band against the skin.
Most patients do not require any anaesthesia. However, depending on the location of the tattoo and the pain threshold for the patient, you may request the use of topical anaesthesia cream or local anaesthetic injected at the site of the procedure.
How many treatments will I need?
The colour of the tattoo and the depth of the pigment are influencing factors regarding the duration and the outcome of the laser treatment.
Multiple sessions ranging from 5 – 20 sessions spaced between 6 and 8 weeks apart may be required to attain favourable results.
